Are you too bored to go out this afternoon? Perhaps it’s raining too much? Or you just decided to stay at home and relax after a very tiring day?
No matter what your reasons are, staying at home doesn’t have to be boring at all -you can actually use this chance to spend some quality time with your S.O./friends/family and come closer to them. Here are 10 fun things you can do!
1. Cook together
Of course I would begin my list of ideas like that: talking about food^^ Salty or sweet, no matter what the dish is, cooking can be a funny, bonding activity. Plus, you get to enjoy the food in the end. And if you have too much fun in the kitchen and the dish is a failure -well, you can still order a pizza. Win-win!
2. Make cocktails
Make your favourite cocktails at home! Or mix ingredients and create new ones: then name them after one another and if they are mouth watering write them down for future reference.
3. Draw each other
If you are more than 2 in the house, write your names on little papers, fold them and then pick up one: this is the person your are going to draw!
4. Do karaoke
In the era of Youtube, it is one of the best free activities that you can do on a lazy evening. This is going to be something unforgettable that can brighten up your gloomiest days!
5. Play board or video games
…because who wouldn’t want to spend a whole evening playing Magic?
There are are many other ideas you can try! For example:
- you can play the “How well do you know me?” game: write a list of questions about you, that the other person will try to answer afterwards (e.g. Which is my favourite restaurant?). You cute little couples, beware! This can be a deal breaker, so take it easy 😉
- another fun thing you can do is choose a language that you both/all like and learn a few words
6. Have a spa evening
That’s the perfect chance to try on a new face mask with your friends. If you are alone, you can also enjoy a warm bath, rich in bath salts. Mmm just perfect!
7. Decorate a mug for each other
Grab some simple white mugs and permanent markers (or old nail polishes) and decorate the mugs. Then gift them to one another -because a colourful memory with coffee inside is a great way to begin your mornings!
8. Do a “yoga poses” challenge
Google “yoga poses for couples”. See them? Get ready and try them out! This will offer you one of the best laughs you ever had! But be super careful, especially if your flexibility reaches zero. Place protective pillows around and don’t do something that you are certain you can not perform. Always know your limits and protect yourselves!
9. Change the decoration in a room
If you have some time off and you are in the mood, why not change the decoration in one of the rooms of your house? Changing your environment can do wonders for your mood! You can check google or pinterest for inspiration and borrow ideas that you like. Thank me later!
10. Watch a movie
Okay, the last idea is a classic: just prepare some popcorn (or other snacks) and watch a movie of your choice. Some movies that I would suggest watching are:
- Pan’s labyrinth
- Life of Pi
- 12 years a slave
- V for Vendetta
- The lovely bones
- Requiem for a dream
- A Star Wars marathon
- Classic animations: Spirited away, Howl’s moving castle, Princess Mononoke… Love them all!
